50th Celebration Letter - June 2023
9 June 2023
Dear Parent
As you know our 50th Celebrations are taking place next week. We have a number of events scheduled for next week including:
Monday 12 June – Rock Painting
All pupils should bring a rock to school if they haven’t already done so. This will be decorated in school before being placed in our bespoke rockery.
Tuesday 13 June – Coffee Evening
All past parents, pupils and staff are invited to attend an Open Coffee Evening from 4-7pm. This will give you an opportunity to meet previous staff, view photographs from through the decades and listen to our choir perform over a cup of tea.
Wednesday 14 June – Tom Sweeney Concert
As part of Gibson tradition, Tom will be performing for both KS1 and KS2 pupils. PTA are meeting the cost of this concert.
Thursday 15 June – Through the Decades Celebration Day
Pupils are encouraged to dress up to celebrate 50 years of Gibson and take part in a number of events we have planned.
- Year 1 – 3 pupils should wear something golden or yellow to mark the Golden Anniversary.
- Year 4 – 7 pupils should wear clothes from the decade they have been studying this term ie. Year 7 – 1970’s; Year 6 – 1980’s; Year 5 – 1990’s and Year 4 – 2000’s.
This promises to be an exciting and enjoyable weekend for our pupils and we look forward to our Big Birthday Bash on Tuesday 27 June from 7 – 9 pm which will conclude our 50th Celebrations!
Yours sincerely
K Sterritt (Mr)
