Christmas Dinner will be served on Thursday 15 December and costs £2.60 for those not entitled to free meals. This should be booked, like all dinners, through the School Money App by Monday 12 December. This will also be a non-uniform Christmas Jumper Day. We are asking a £2 donation per child which will go to Save the Children which should be sent into the class teacher.
Christmas Fun Day – Our annual Fun Day is planned for Friday 16 December where Santa will arrive in school in his own unique way! All children will get to meet Santa and receive a small gift. We would encourage all pupils to wear a Christmas Jumper or something festive as this will be a non-uniform day. We would also request that each pupil brings a minimum donation of £1 to help cover costs.
Christmas Performances – All classes from Year 1-4 are performing a short Christmas performance. Admittance is strictly by ticket only which have been on sale for the past week.
The performances are on the following dates:
- Language Unit – Wednesday 14 December at 10.00am
- Year 1 – Tuesday 13 December at 10.00am
- Year 2 – Wednesday 14 December at 1.30pm
- Year 3/4 – Monday 19 December at 1.30pm
Christmas Carol Service – Our Year 5-7 pupils will be holding our Annual Carol Service in St Columba’s on Monday 19 December at 7.00pm. All parents and friends are welcome to attend, as there is no admission fee, we plan on holding a retiring collection in aid of Air Ambulance NI.
Year 1 Admission – Admission for Year 1 now takes place online and runs from Tuesday 10 January until Friday 27 January. Thankfully we are able to hold our Open Evening as usual, which is planned for Wednesday 7 December between 4.00 and 6.30pm. If you know of anyone interested in enrolling, please direct them to our website and get them to contact school.
Poppy Appeal – Many thanks for your support for our annual Poppy Appeal. Thanks to your generosity this year we managed to raise £951 which was greatly appreciated.
Flu Vaccination – Our Flu vaccinations will be taking place on Thursday 8 December. If your child was due to receive the vaccine and your circumstances have now changed, please contact the school by Wednesday 7 December.
School App – We continue to send letters, newsletters and permission slips via the school app. It is therefore essential that all parents download the ‘School’s NI’ app and register to receive up to date information. Please note our messages are sent ‘privately’ which means only people who have been verified can access these. If you need further assistance, please contact the school.
Stamps – As in previous years we are collecting used stamps. These can be sent in with your child and all proceeds will go to charity.
Homework – Written homework will finish this week with spelling and reading to finish at the end of next week.
Christmas Experience – We are extremely excited about hosting the Gibson Christmas Experience. All tickets have been sold and we have no additional spaces available. It is essential that everyone is punctual as we cannot place late arrivals in a different group.
