·         Year 1 – 3 at 12.30pm

World Book Day

This year World Book Day is on Thursday 7 March.  We have a number of things planned including:

·         Pyjama Day – we are encouraging all pupils to come into school on Thursday 7 March in their pyjamas, onesie or dressing gowns etc and bring a teddy with them.  We aim to get some of our older pupils reading to the younger pupils and have planned different activities throughout the day.  There is no need to purchase any items or clothing for this event!

·         Book Fair – will be running every day in school from Monday 11 March – Thursday 14 March.  This will be open for parents in the front foyer from 2.15 – 3.30pm daily.

Year 1 Mother Day Assembly

Our Year 1 children are having a special Mother’s Day Assembly at 10.45am on Friday 8 March in the Assembly Hall.  All mothers (and grandmothers) are warmly invited to attend.  We would appreciate it if each child could have a representative present as the children have a small gift to present.

PTA Easter Raffle

Our PTA are currently organising an Easter Basket Raffle.  Baskets will all contain cuddly toys, crisps, chocolate, craft items etc and will be on display in Assembly on Friday.  Images of these will also be on our social media platforms.  Tickets will go on sale in class on Monday 11 March and will cost £1. 

School Trip

Our annual residential school trip for Year 7 children takes place on Monday 17 June to Wednesday 19 June to the Share Centre.  Parents are reminded that the deadline for payment is Friday 22 March. A parents’ meeting will be held closer to the time to discuss relevant details.

School Mobile Number and Busy Bees

We now have a school mobile for contacting Busy Bees Club.  Any phone calls after 4.00pm should be made to this number 07359710943.  We would advise storing this number for future reference as it will also be used for school trips and other outings. 

Busy Bees continues to run each afternoon from 3.00pm until 5.00pm at a cost of £8.  This can be booked via the online booking system used for school dinners.

Year 2 Pirate Day

Our Year 2 pupils are having Pirate Day on Wednesday 13 March.  All Year 2 pupils are encouraged to dress up.  This has always proved to be a fun-filled day of adventure!!

Robotics Roadshow

Our Year 6 pupils are participating in a Robotics Roadshow taking place at Omagh Academy on Friday 15 March.  More details will be sent home shortly regarding this.

Year 4 Doherty Evacuee Day

Mrs Doherty’s class will be having an Evacuee Day on Thursday 21 March.  All pupils are encouraged to dress up for this event.  More details will follow shortly.

On-line Dinner & Busy Bee Bookings

Please remember it is essential that all children taking school dinners or attending Busy Bee After School Club and booked in via our online booking system on a weekly basis.

Rugby Team

There is an Ulster Rugby Mini Rugby Blitz event scheduled for Tuesday 16 April for our Boys and Girls 10-Aside Rugby Team.  More details will follow in due course.

Year 4 Paired Reading Programme

Our Year 4 pupils will commence a 6 week Paired Reading Project on Monday 15 April – Friday 24 May.  Further details will be sent home shortly.  In order to mark the launch of this project we are inviting parents to attend a short, informal meeting in school on Wednesday 10 April beginning at 3.00pm where the Paired Reading programme will be explained.

Year 4 & 5 to ‘Frozen’

Our Year 4 & 5 pupils will be attending the performance of ‘Frozen’ at Omagh Integrated PS on Wednesday 20 March.  A letter with further details will be sent out shortly.

Catering Assistant Position
