Year 1 Applications

Year 1 Application Forms for any child aged 4 before 2 July 2020 are available online until 30 January 2020. We are having Open Mornings in school each Wednesday from 9.00am – 11.30am during January to let parents see our school in action and assist with the application process. Please feel free to call into school to complete the application or contact Mr Sterritt if you know of any parent who is interested in applying for a place for their child.

Online Dinner Payments

You will be receiving a text in the coming days asking you to register for our Online payment system. It is essential that ALL families register regardless of whether your child takes school dinners or is eligible for free meals. We plan to begin online payments on Monday 20 January and we will no longer accept cash for school dinners after this date. We will send further information out later this week.

Year 1 – 3 Parent Interviews

Year 1 – 3 Parent Interviews will take place on Tuesday 11, Wednesday 12 & Thursday 13 February 2020. Please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible if you require an interpreter. Times for these interviews will be sent home in the coming weeks.

Year 7 Transfer Interviews

Mr Sterritt and the Year 7 teachers will carry out Year 7 Transfer Interviews on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 January. AQE results will be issued on Saturday 25 January and Mr Sterritt will be available should you wish to contact him.

Post Primary Open Days are scheduled as follows:

• Thursday 9 January – Drumragh Integrated College (6.30pm)
• Thursday 16 January – Omagh Academy (7.00pm)
• Tuesday 21 January – Omagh High School (6.00pm)After School Activities will commence week beginning 20 January. Again we will be providing both sporting and non-sporting activities. Full details will be sent out later this week.

West Tyrone Feis

Pupils who would like to take part in the forthcoming Poetry, Prose and Drama section of the West Tyrone Feis should let Mrs Russell know before Friday 10 January 2020. Please note that this year any child who currently attends private Speech & Drama classes (eg. Hazel Wand) is not eligible to compete.

Paired Reading

The children in Year 4 McMullin and Year 4 Deazley will take part in a Paired Reading programme at the beginning of February lasting 6 weeks. Further details to follow in due course.

PTA Christmas Show Raffles

Our PTA ran a number of raffles at our Year 1 – 3 Christmas Performances. Thanks to your support they were able to raise £726.

Air Ambulance NI Donation

A total of £914 was raised through the retiring offering at our Y4-7 Carol Service in St Columba’s. The school intends to present a cheque for £1000 to this extremely worthwhile cause and thank all those involved for their generosity.

School Trip to Edinburgh

Our residential trip for Y6 and Y7 pupils will take place from Tuesday 24 March – Friday 27 March. All deposits have been paid and places are full. Further details about the trip will follow in due course
