Food & Fitness Week
You will have received information and a sponsor sheet relating to our forthcoming Food & Fitness Week which is takes place from Monday 27 – Friday 31 March.
Please note all sponsorship should be returned to the class teacher by Wednesday 29 March.
Similarly, if you plan to join us for Breakfast on the final day (Friday 31 March) as part of our Walk to School event please book tickets by Tuesday 21 March.
Easter Raffles
We will be raffling Easter Eggs and some Chocolate Bouquets in the next few weeks. Tickets cost 50p or your child can buy 3 for £1. These will be sent round all classes in the final weeks of term. We will send a reminder out about this before they go on sale.
School Trip
Our annual residential school trip for Year 7 children takes place on Monday 8 May to Wednesday 10 May to the Share Centre. This will be our first trip since 2019 due to Covid-19 and we are all extremely excited. A meeting for parents of all children attending will be held on Thursday 20 April at 3.15pm. It is essential that parents attend as permission slips, medical forms and the itinerary will be given out.
Year 4 Paired Reading Programme
Our Year 4 pupils will commence a 6 week Paired Reading Project on Monday 17 April. Further details will be sent home shortly. In order to mark the launch of this project we are inviting parents to attend a short, informal meeting in school on Monday 17 April beginning at 2.30pm where the Paired Reading programme will be explained.
Sports Team
Our Hockey Teams will be competing in the regional qualifiers on Thursday 16 March, while our Rugby Team will be playing on Wednesday 22 March to qualify for Ravenhill. Our Cross-Country Team also plan to participate in an event on Friday 24 March. Good luck to all involved.
50th Anniversary Celebrations
Gibson Primary School was opened 50 years old, and we plan to hold some celebrations in the summer term. We will provide more details after Easter!
On-line Dinner Bookings
Please remember it is essential that all children taking school dinners are booked in via our online booking system on a weekly basis. If you are experiencing issues, please contact the school office.
Year 6 SEAG Parent Meeting
Our Year 6 parents are invited to attend a parent meeting in the school Assembly Hall on Thursday 23 March at 4.00pm. A letter with more information has been sent home.
Robotics Roadshow
Our Year 6 pupils have been asked to participate in a Robotics Roadshow taking place at Omagh Academy on Friday 24 March. Further details will be sent home shortly.
Year 2 Pirate Day
Our Year 2 pupils are having Pirate Day on Wednesday 22 March. All pupils are encouraged to dress up. This has always proved to be a fun-filled day of adventure!!
