Monday 17 December – Carol Service in St Columba’s Church of Ireland

School Photographs – Tuesday 20 & Wednesday 21 November 2018.

Family sessions will take place on Tuesday 20 November from 2.30 – 4.00pm and again from 5.30 – 7.30pm these should be booked tomorrow. More details will be sent home this week.

PTA Committee – Further to the AGM the following people were elected:

We would like to thank all those who helped our PTA last year. Our office bearers are extremely experienced members of PTA and I have no doubt this year will be as successful as previous years.

Flu Vaccination Day – Our date for the nasal flu vaccination to be administered is Thursday 22 November. All children from Year 1-7 have received information regarding this. If your child has any relevant change in medical circumstance, please let the school office know as soon as possible.

Poppy Appeal – This year our pin badges have a WW1 design and cost £2.00. A kids pack including wristbands, reflectors, bracelets & snap bands are also available for purchase at set prices. All other donations are welcome for the traditional paper poppy.

Internet Safety Week – We are planning an ‘Online Safety Week’ in school all next week (Monday 12 – Friday 16 November). Our main aims are to raise our pupils’ awareness of what ‘Being Online’ means, how to use the internet appropriately and most importantly how to stay safe when online.

Open Morning – We are holding our Open Morning on Saturday 17 November at 10am. This provides an opportunity for any prospective new parents to come and see what is special about Gibson. If you know of any new parents who are deciding where to send their child, please let them know about our Open Morning.

AQE Tests – These tests take place on Saturday 10 November, Saturday 24 November and Saturday 1 December 2018. Good luck to all pupils sitting these tests.

Samaritan’s Purse – Shoe Box Appeal – As part of Operation Christmas Child we are participating in the Shoe Box Appeal. All filled shoe boxes should be left into school by Monday 19 November.

Air Ambulance – Charity Fundraiser – A huge thank you to all who have sent their sponsor money in. Any outstanding monies should be sent in to the office tomorrow. We are already blown away by the amount raised and we would like share this incredible amount as soon as possible!

Christmas Shows – Following the success of last year’s carol services we will be once again be holding Christmas Carol services instead of our traditional Christmas Performances. As always it is our intention that all children will participate in their respective performances.

Mon 17 December – Year 4 – 7 Carol Service in St Columba’s at 7pm

Tues 11 & Thurs 13 December – Year 1 Christmas Show in school at 1.30pm

Wed 12 December – Year 2 & 3 Christmas Performance in school at 10.00am & 1.30pm.

Parents are invited to attend these events; tickets will be available for the performances in school but are not required for the Carol Service in St Columba’s.
