KEY DATES

Monday 18 & Tuesday 19 November – School photos and family evening session (Monday).

Thursday 28 November – Open Evening (6pm start)

Thursday 12 December – Election – School closed (Polling Station)

Monday 16 December – Carol Service in St Columba’s Church of Ireland

General Election – As you will be aware a General Election has been called for Thursday 12 December. As we are used as a Polling Station school will be closed on this day. We will be open on Friday 13 December as normal.

PTA Committee – Further to the AGM the following people were elected:

Secretary – Mrs Samantha Bradley                                 Treasurer – Mrs Yvonne Reid

Car Parking – It is essential that all users of the car park use ALL available spaces and SHOW CONSIDERATION to others. Please refrain from posting images on our Facebook page as this can lead to increased tension. If there are any issues, please let me know as soon as possible.

After School Activities – There are now two weeks of activities remaining. All activities finish on Thursday 21 November.

Library Visits – A number of classes will be visiting Omagh Library over the coming weeks. Letters have been sent home to all classes involved. Please send a coat with your child on these days.

Poppy Appeal – This year pin badges cost £2.00. A kid’s pack including wristbands, bracelets & snap bands are also available for purchase at set prices. All other donations are welcome for the traditional paper poppy. This year we will be represented at the Remembrance Service by two pupils.

School Photographs – These take place on Monday 18 & Tuesday 19 November 2019.

Family sessions are scheduled on Monday 18 November from 2.30 – 4.00pm and again from 5.30 – 7.30pm these should be booked in advance. More details will be sent home shortly.

Open Evening – This year we are holding an Open Evening on Thursday 28 November at 6pm. This is open to parents and pupils from nursery to Year 7 who are interested in coming to Gibson. If you know of any parents who are deciding where to send their child, please let them know about our Open Evening.

AQE Tests – These tests take place on Saturday 9 November, Saturday 23 November and Saturday 30 November 2019. Good luck to all pupils sitting the AQE.

Samaritan’s Purse – Shoe Box Appeal – As part of Operation Christmas Child we are participating in the Shoe Box Appeal. All filled shoe boxes should be left into school by Friday 15 November.

NSPCC & Children’s Heartbeat Trust – Charity Fundraiser – A huge thank you to all who have sent their sponsor money in. Any outstanding monies should be sent in to the office tomorrow. We would like to share how much we have raised as soon as possible!

Christmas Shows – We will once again be holding a variety of Christmas Carol services and Performances. As always all children will participate in their respective performances.

Thursday 5 December – Year 1 & Language Units Christmas Show in school at 1.30pm.

Tuesday 10 December – Year 2 & 3 Christmas Performance in school at 10.00am & 1.30pm.

Monday 16 December – Year 4 – 7 Carol Service in St Columba’s at 7pm

Parents are invited to attend these events; tickets will be available for the performances in school but are not required for the Carol Service in St Columba’s.
